Essential maintenance

Winter? Its the 6th September believe me!

Routine maintenance continues with the latest task undertaken being the repainting of the windows on the Boat house. Harry managed to obtain the services of young James who whilst being much more economical than a professional painter never the less carried out sterling work coating each window with undercoat and 2 coats of exterior gloss. This will lengthen the life of the windows considerably. Thank you James!

The newly painted windows on the Boat house.

It was planned to affix the reinforcing plates on to the 3 green boats at the weekend but due to gale force winds, driving rain and a swell on the loch that would have worried a battleship discretion became the better part of valour and the operation was aborted.

After 2 broken and 1 bent drill bit the operation was aborted.

The tethering hooks on all the boats will be adjusted and a means of making them tamper proof will be put in place.
The boats will now kept chained up with heavy duty chain and prospective users will now have to get a key from Harry (loch keeper) or Isabel (Club Secretary) at Henderland Cottage East.

The decision to increase security was taken with a degree of reluctance but it seems these days that nothing is sacred!

Signs are now in place at the boat house re littering and we really need to re emphasise the message that under NO circumstances should litter be discarded! Please use the receptacle provided or better still take it home.
