Illegal usage of club boats.

It never ceases to amaze me the brass neck of some individuals! "Pike Anglers" (probably better described as Muppets) commandeered 2 boats obviously fishing illegally as the loch keeper had no knowledge of any legitimate boat hire and at the end of their session left them 500metres from the boathouse.

We know they were Pike fishing because of 3 pristine wire traces left in the boat. I suppose that we should be grateful they tied the boats to a tree and didnt leave them adrift!

The fall out from this loutish behaviour disrupted my day, the loch keepers, the secretarys but perhaps most of all Elliots as he felt it incumbent on himself to tow the boats back to their proper mooring site losing valuable fishing time. Thank you Elliot!

It has now been decided that the boats and oars will from Saturday be kept chained up. the exact mechanism of operation has still to be finalised. Check back here for an update.

On the subject of boats the 3 green boats are to have reinforcing added where outboard motors are attached by means of fixing metal plates where the motor clamps attach. Thanks to Harry (our lochkeeper) for making numerous trips to metal suppliers to obtain the correct grade of metal and fixings. Elliot (a highly skilled engineer) is in the process of making angle brackets to minimise flex when the outboards are used at full power. These modifications will take place over the next 2 weeks and will enhance and preserve the boats.

The lads from lancashire are back for another bash at the Pike following a sucessful trip last year and at 5pm today had an 11.5lbs pike in the bag with all night and tomorrow to go before they set off home. I know you will be reading this so hope you enjoyed your visit and bagged a few Pike, look forward to seeing you again later in the year.
